NOTES
Description: D:\Documents\WEBS\JuicerCollector-2007\Juicers\Images_2\Crown_Bullet.jpg I have identified these different basic types of Crown Crystal juicers.
  - Lemon squeezers
  - Orange squeezers
  - Perforated lemon squeezers
  - Large perforated lemon squeezers
  - Lemon Machine funnel
  - Tab handle perforated lemon squeezers for 1 pint jugs
Description: D:\Documents\WEBS\JuicerCollector-2007\Juicers\Images_2\Crown_Bullet.jpg

Colours and varieties of same design are listed.

I have also identified tinge colours in the lemon squeezers, which may be deliberate or may be the result of bad glass batches. I have a few yellow tinged and a few green tinged examples. I have several smokey grey, which would suggest that this colour was deliberate
Description: D:\Documents\WEBS\JuicerCollector-2007\Juicers\Images_2\Crown_Bullet.jpg

If it is listed below then I have at least one sample of each in my collection.

Description: D:\Documents\WEBS\JuicerCollector-2007\Juicers\Images_2\Crown_Bullet.jpg

I have also identified different developmental stages of Crown Crystal lemon squeezers. In brief, the reamer (cone) gradually got larger during the production period 1929 - 1965. It is difficult to determine whether some of the differences were developmental or the result of different moulds being created for different presses and/or at different factories.
Only obvious changes are recorded here. Eg. I have not included the flat and sloped areas around the reamer (cone).

For a photographic comparison and catalogue evidence of the developmental stages of lemon squeezers, see Crown Crystal Lemon Juicers.

First type juicers may have Mould Numbers. See Mould Numbers.
When a listings gives Known numbers it means that these numbers have been found on lemon squeezers in my collection.
Description: D:\Documents\WEBS\JuicerCollector-2007\Juicers\Images_2\Crown_Bullet.jpg

The type numbers are my own and are only used to identify devopmental variations in this pattern.
Perhaps, if some other researcher has other ideas, with evidence, then I will go with the flow.

These juicers were made from 1929 to 1960s.

During that time the pattern did not change, however, the reamer's (the cone) orientation changed and gradually got larger.
The catalogue images actually show these changes in the orientation and size.

The later examples, 1950s/1960s had much heavier glass.
The finish on later examples is speckled.

Rim height: Included because it is indicative of different moulds.
It may also indicate a 'small' squeezer

These juicers are relatively common and are still being used in homes and school hospitality classrooms/kitchens throughout Australia.

Tinged vs Coloured
I will list other 'tinge' colours as I relocate them in may storage. Many of these may appera to be dirty clear glass.
These tinge colours may be deliberate or may be the result of glass batches.
I have a few yellow tinge and green tinge and will include these as I relocate them.

This exists with green that glows and is not uranium. A lot of green glass had manganese in it which gives a similar green. This glass with manganese glows orange/peach colour or a dull lime green colour.

Importantly the difference is easily measured.
The ridges of the reamer point between the pip collectors as with type 1 & 2
The length of the longest vertical line around the bowl of type 1 & 2 is 18 mm while the length of the longest vertical line around this smaller bowl is 15 mm The 15 mm longest vertical line around the bowl is found on all the lemon squeezers with the ridges of the reamer pointing at the pip collectors

These juicers were made from 1929 to 1950's.

All are very hard to find without any minor chipping. The juicer is very heavy and prone to damage. Chipping less than 1.5mm should be concidered acceptable. Larger damage reduces its value as a collectable. Perfect examples should carry a premium

I have at least 3 different green glass types
Uranium Green (glows brightly)
Green that glows (not uranium)
Green that does not glow.

I have not been able to determine theproduction period for these juicers, however, likely to be the mid 1930s onward, until ?

Very similar to those made in the USA. Check measurements
Australia has 20 oz = 1 Pint. USA has 16 oz = 1 Pint

These are very difficult to find as a complete set given that the measuring jug had other uses and often became seperated. Be careful that the green glass parts are either both Uranium or both plain green.

These exist with green that glows and is not uranium. A lot of green glass had manganese in it which gives a similar green. This glass glows orange/peach colour or a lime green colour.
