Colin Ross Parker

Born: 14th July 1941 at Lindfield, New South Wales, Australia.

Background: Colin Parker was educated at Gordon PS, Hornsby Technical HS and North Sydney Technical HS. After completing his schooling, worked with Madison Milwyn Associates in advertising in the production side. He also worked at his family's framing and gallery business, S.A. Parker, in Sydney. He painted in his spare time, beginning his long and successful career at the age of 19.

	Former Chief Steward Hawkesbury Show Society

	Instrumental in the establishment of the Hawkesbury City Council's Art Collection
	Former Chairman of the Royal Society of Arts Manufacture and Commerce New South Wales Chapter
	President of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales for 4½ years commencing in 1997
	Recognised as an expert in regard to art evaluation
	Introduced Rotary art exhibitions while a member of the Rotary Club of Richmond. He was a foundation member and president
	External examiner at the University of New England at the level of Master of Letters in Visual Art and Design
	Respected art competition judge on many occasions
	Adviser at Federal Parliamentary Back Bench Hearings into Arts in the Western Sydney Region
	Artist in residence at the Ayres Rock Resort, Yulara, Northern Territory
	Artist in residence at the Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory
	Artist in residence, lecturing and painting on the Norwegian Star cruise ship

Exhibitions and Awards Include:

	Portraits hung in the Archibald Prize on three occasions
	A landscape hung in the Wynne Prize
	Won the Sydney Royal Easter Show Rural Landscape Prize
	Won the Royal Australian Navy 75^th Anniversary Prize
	Exhibited and painted in London, Spain, Italy and Southern France
	Represented Australia in exhibitions in Canada and the United States of America
