Base marks
I have created this page to allow easy comparison of the variety of basemarks and basemark colours used on juicers of the same form (same mould).

Potters, factories and importers/exporters
It is my experience that many base marks actually belong to an importer or exporter. The result is different basemarks on identical objects imported by different importers within the same country or different countries. Some pieces using the same mould/mold or having the same form have a myriad of different base marks. This could also suggest piecework, small potters in a managed group or simple outsoucing. Or the different basemarks may simply reflect an importer using a different Japanese pottery firm to complete a later order.
It should be noted that this is currently occurring in the 21st century with Chinese imports. There are both multiple manufacturers and multiple importers.
Examples
The following listings are a work in progress, however, sufficient to demonstrate the point that I am making. As I sort through the collection, adding previously unlisted items and updating existing pages and images I will add more basemarks and items to better tell the story.
